On Sunday, February 19, 2012, an incomparable gathering of Canada’s finest artists will take place in Koerner Hall, Toronto  – 16 singers, a stage director and 2 pianists.  They will celebrate 30 amazing years of performing the rich repertoire of classical song across this city, throughout Canada and around the world.

Led by the illustrious Gerald Finley, one of the world’s leading baritones, alongside dazzling international stars such as Nathalie Paulin, Gillian Keith, Michael Colvin and Brett Polegato, the line-up includes Colin Ainsworth, Benjamin Butterfield, Tyler Duncan, Shannon Mercer, Susan Platts, Lauren Segal, Krisztina Szabó, Giles Tomkins, Monica Whicher and Lawrence Wiliford.  Hosts and presenters for the afternoon will be Catherine Robbin and Christopher Newton.

Artistic Directors, Stephen Ralls and Bruce Ubukata, will preside at two pianos, accompanying the singers in a rich variety of repertoire, climaxing in the ecstatic Serenade To Music  by the English composer, Ralph Vaughan Williams; words from Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice, beginning:  “How sweet the moonlight sleeps upon this bank!” are gloriously set for 16 singers, with the inspired addition of solo violin.
