Brush up your Shakespeare! – November 21, 1993 | Walter Hall, Toronto
Settings of Shakespeare, or music connected with his plays

date:  November 21, 1993

From the vast body of available repertoire, we chose solo songs dating from 1599 to 1979, together with examples of incidental music, some fragments of opera and excerpts from a Broadway musical which ended the concert in ebullient style.  Some dialogue from the plays interspersed the musical items.  The concert had first been performed in Walter Hall in May 1987 and was to be adapted as a new touring programme, “The Food of Love”, in July 2005.
