A celebration of the Aldeburgh Connection at the opening of its 25th anniversary season

At the opening of our 25th anniversary season, we chose 25 items, one from each year of our existence. (The two Poulenc songs count as one, as do the seven sections of All Around the Circle.) The whole sequence covered the wide range of styles which we have presented. Commissions by Derek Holman, John Beckwith and John Greer were important features, along with other songs in English, German, French, Italian and Russian. The house programme gave the earlier performing details of each item, while the four singers were talented performers at the start of their careers who would take this repertoire and introduce it to future audiences.
