Two of our favourite colleagues, soprano Nathalie Paulin and baritone Brett Polegato, joined us in a gala soirée at Integral House, 194 Roxborough Drive, Rosedale  –  probably Toronto’s finest and most renowned contemporary house  –  through the generous hospitality of the owner, James Stewart.  Before a large and enthusiastic audience, our singers performed songs by English and French composers, interspersed with some piano duets.  We were then joined by a surprise guest, distinguished soprano Adrianne Pieczonka, who brought three songs by Richard Strauss.  The evening ended with a lighthearted encore, after which more champagne and sweetmeats were consumed . . .
